Fresh as a Daisy Simple Stamping Card

Today’s Fresh as a Daisy simple stamping card just makes my ‘simple’ heart sing. One piece of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a few pieces of card stock can create a lovely card as well as a coordinating envelope. The greeting I’ve chosen makes this a timely Mother’s Day card as well.

You’ll need some Basic White Thick card stock, a piece of 6″ x 6″ DSP, coordinating card stock, an embossing folder, the Cut & Emboss Machine, a greeting and a few bits of bling.

Quick & Easy “What You Need To Do It”

  • Basic White Thick card stock: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Fold on score line.
  • Basic White card stock: 5-1/4″ x 4″: run through Cut and Emboss Machine using the Painted Texture Embossing Folder and attach to card front using ‘green glue’. Also a 2-1/2″ x 1″ scrap for greeting.
  • Crushed Curry card stock: 5 pieces 1-1/8″ x 2-5/8″
  • Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper: 2-1/2″ x 4″: Cut into 4 2-1/2″ x 1″ pieces, keeping them in ‘order’ and attach these, using Multipurpose Glue (aka ‘green glue’) to 4 of the Crushed Curry pieces. Second reminder: Be sure to line the DSP images in the order they were before they were cut apart so they look ‘logical’ on the card front.
  • Using multipurpose glue, attach these four layered pieces to the card front as shown. TIP: Position to top layered piece, then the bottom layered piece, and then — keeping the pieces in order — balance the other two between them.
  • Use Crushed Curry Classic ink to stamp greeting onto Basic White scrap. Layer the greeting onto remaining Crushed Curry 1-1/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece and attach to card front using Dimensionals.
  • Crushed Curry Twine: Fold a 20″ (more or less) piece in half and then tie into a bow. Trim ends as you like. Attach bow to greeting with a Glue Dot.
  • Optional: place a 1/2″ x 5-1/5″ strip of the same DSP inside the card about 1/8″ from the right edge.

How’d I Do the Envelope??? I Almost Forgot!

Take a 6″ x 2-3/8″ piece of matching/coordinating DSP and attach it to the outside flap of the envelope using ‘green glue’, sliding the DSP right up to the top of the flap. Turn it over and carefully trim the excess using Paper Snips (nice sharp scissors). It gives such a nice finish to your project.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s Fresh as a Daisy simple stamping card. You can duplicate it and morph it into something totally different by simply changing your DSP (Designer Series Paper) and greeting. Please share your impression with us.
