I agree that Fearless Cardmaking in Minutes Challenge is quite a way to start a blog post but it’s true. I just selected a *supply type* (Designer Series Paper, aka DSP), *3 specific supplies* (new In Color ink, DSP and bling) and finally *my sentiment* (a simple ‘hello’).
My card was finished in just over 5 minutes! Let’s make it 10 minutes from the beginning of choosing my supplies to finishing the card.
I’m taking a 3 day quick class offered by Justine Hovey, Fearless Cardmaking in Minutes, with participants from all over the world who collectively use all of the stamping supply products available throughout the world. Since all I use are Stampin’ Up! products they were my obvious choices.
My Supplies:
Getting Started:
My first step was randomly stamping a background image on the card front using Petunia Pop Classic Ink.
Step 2:
Next I cut a piece of 2024-2026 In Color Petunia Pop DSP into a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece and then cut it into into 1″ x 5-1/2″ strips. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, I attached one strip 1/4″ in from the left side of the card front and another strip (same side of the pattern) to the right side. Before adding the middle piece of DSP I carefully glued a 4-1/2″ piece of Petunia Pop Ribbon on the card front, covering the first two layered DSP pieces and laying flat on the card front in the middle area. Then, using the flip side of the DSP pattern, I attached the third piece of DSP between the first two.
Add a Greeting:
Select two adjacent Deckled Circle dies for cutting (1) a coordinating larger piece of DSP and (2) a smaller piece of Basic White that will be for the greeting. Stamp your greeting, using Petunia Pop Classic Ink on the Basic White die cut piece and then attach it to the DSP layer. Attach these pieces to the card front using Dimensionals. Done! Oops……….don’t forget to add a three Petunia Pop Resin Dots!!
It took me less than 20 minutes, from selecting my supplies to the final stamping and attaching of the greeting to complete this card–from conception to completion. It can be done!
Moral of the project: don’t over-think it. Choose a color and pattern that makes you smile and keep it simple. And if you’re stumped, go to page 22 of the new 2024-2025 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalog and check out the 22 simple card layouts. Need a new catalog? Tomorrow…..Choosing a Technique
Since I’m participating in this 3-day stamping challenge, Fearless Cardmaking in Minutes, I’ll be sharing Day 2’s project tomorrow. I haven’t chosen my ‘technique’ yet! I’m thinking maybe using Embossing Paste. I had to throw away paste that I purchased a few years ago because it dried up. I hadn’t touched it! So I purchased some more (Shimmery White) and I am definitely going to use it before I ‘forget about it’! See you tomorrow with my results.
Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.
