A PEEK AT CHRISTMASes PAST and PRESENT

I thought I’d share a few of the hand stamped cards my husband and I have made over the years, all using Stampin’ Up! products.  It was amazing to be able to put our fingers on so many of them.  It’s also fun to sit and make your holiday cards with your sweetie!

My husband, Russ, ‘manufactured’ a jig for perfect placement of the window panes which utilized Stampin’ Up!’s 1-1/4″ square punch.  The tree ‘lives’ outside of our kitchen window.  It’s probably grown 4 feet since this card photo and now interferes with our clothes line.  It was destined to be cut down this year and brought inside but………it still is right there, outside the window.  Actually, I think the clothes line will be moved rather than the tree cut down!

The card below has an odd fold, landscape position, top fold about 1-1/2″ and bottom fold 3-1/2″.  Then a 3″ x 4″ stamped piece was added to the top flap which needed to be lifted to view the inside.  These trees are on a ‘landing’ about 1/3 mile out and ‘up’ behind our house.  It was just so pretty with fresh snow and low low clouds.

It is so much fun to capture our ‘back yard’ after fresh snow AND with some blue sky.  Do you remember the organza ribbon!  The greeting is under the left flap.

This was one of my first ventures into using My Digital Studio and I only had one card (maybe 5?) printed.  It was ‘just a test’.  (Hubby made the phone box for me.  Yes I love it!)

I have no idea where the missing years’ cards are but I do have this year’s card:

2014

Klipple's 2014 Christmas Card + stamped envelopeI do l-o-v-e this Wonderous Wreath stamp set and coordinating framelits.

The clock is certainly clicking down now.  Two more days until Christmas 2014.  Yes, I have plenty to finish up today!  Thanks for taking a few minutes to stop by and reminisce with me.  It’s fun to see the older stamp sets and styles.  And the card stock colors that have been retired:  Sage Shadow, Handsome Hunter, and Kiwi Kiss.  And you know what?  I don’t really miss them.  We have beautiful replacement colors.

Have a great day!
