Over the weekend* I had the privilege of being “the entertainment” at a soon to be 12 year old girl’s birthday party. The birthday girl, her older sister and her mom have been frequent participants at a local winery where I teach classes every other month. (Hi Potter Wines of Garden City , Idaho!) They’re all great and creative stampers. But I’d never stamped almost exclusively with a gaggle of twelve year olds.
(*Actually “over the weekend” was August 5th! It’s amazing how time can get away from you. Right after the birthday party I had a house guest from Germany–her first visit to the USA–and stamping took a back seat for 3 weeks. We toured from Yellowstone National Park to lots of Idaho, the California mountains (Calaveras Big Trees and Mi Wuk Village) and finally to San Francisco for three days, ending at the SF Airport where she departed for her return to Eastern Germany. Now, today, I’m sitting in the San Francisco airport, alone, waiting patiently to get onto a return flight to Boise as a standby flyer. This is definitely not a good day for standby flyers! Check out October 13th’s post to find out why I was back in the SF Bay Area.) PS……..But this won’t be posted for a few more days………
Back to Zoe’s Stamping Birthday ………It was so much fun and they were so creative. Birthday Girl loves animals so I chose the Playing in the Rain stamp set with its coordinating Rain or Shine 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper for our two cards.
The second card was the perky little rabbit. The girls’ imaginations were so much fun to watch..
Card two started with the Raindrop Embossing Folder. I loved watching the various incarnations of those drops. Below is Birthday Girl’s interpretation:

Product ListNot having had a 12 year old in my home for a long time I wasn’t quite sure what to expect regarding skills, attention spans, silliness etc. But these gals couldn’t have been more fun and dedicated to the task at hand. I look forward to the next similar opportunity.
Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.
