Yesterday was World Card Making Day

Yesterday was World Card Making Day and I was ready to start ‘making’ cards. The 3-hour class ran from 2-4:30 p.m. Mountain Time. With registration we received an information sheet with cutting instructions for the three cards that were presented. I managed to have all three of the stamp sets that were being used on hand.

Three Stamp Sets for Today’s World Card Making

With the exception of the Watercolor Paper, I’ve cut out my card stock per the cutting instruction sheet that’s on the sign up pages. The stamp sets and card stock colors are ‘suggestions’. I had NO IDEA what the finished cards would look like except that I was sure they’d be quite simple.

First Project Used the Circle Sayings Stamp Set

Here is My Finished Basic Circle Sayings Card Plus an Alternative

World Card Making Day Sending You a Warm Hello from event. So sorry for the lousy photo!

This card had to have some background stamping so this is the quick and easy solution I turned to. And then I got some ink on my fingers and plopped it on the Warm Hello greeting. Since this card is only a prototype I opted not to remake it!

Next, Earthen Textures

Since I didn’t have the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper I just used Basic White card stock for my prototype finished card. It worked pretty well.

And Finally, the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set

World Card Making Day PDF

Check out this PDF for creating these cards for your crafting fun. Try them out. Create variations. Share them in a comment below. For me it was (1) a learning experience and how to do a variety of things with simple products and (2) it was a challenge to leave such simple cards without trying to ‘fluff’ them a bit. And that’s the fun of stamping–take an idea and make it your own.

Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.
