Silly me. I fell in love with the Zany Zoo stamp set when I first saw it. It’s just plain whimsical and uplifting. How can you not smile when you when you look at the different characters? I haven’t decided which one is my favorite yet. But for today it’s the dog and the raccoon in the winner’s circles. Literally.
When I saw the 2-4-6-8 Fun Fold I thought it could be fun with the Zany Zoo stamp set and Designer Series Paper.
There’s enough busy-ness in the Designer Series Paper that I only needed a few simple images and a clean and simple piece of card stock for the inside greeting.
How to Put Our Card Together
- Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5-1/4″ x 12″, scored at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″.
- Pool Party Card Stock: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″: Adhere the largest fold of the DSP to this piece of card stock so that the multiple folds are in the ‘correct’ position as shown in the photo.
- Punch 2 pcs of Basic Black card stock using the 2-3/8″ punch.
- Punch whichever critter appeals to you using the Starburst Punch. Attach it to one of the Basic Black punched pieces. Color with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.
- Punch one Basic White circle using the 2-1/2″ punch and wipe over it using Pool Party Classic Ink and the Small Blending Brush. Tip: after tapping the Blending Brush on the Pool Party ink pad, start off of the punched circle (I suggest having a piece of Grid Paper or scrap paper under your project) and slide the brush onto the circle. Re-ink as necessary until the circle is the intensity of color you’d like it to be. Attach it to the Basic Black Punched Circle.
- Die cut a balloons-carrying-raccoon from the DSP and color “him” and the balloons using Stamping Blends. I used Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twist and Lemon Lolly. Attach the raccoon to the Basic White Circle using the adhesive of your choice.
- Place adhesive (my favorite for this step is Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, aka “green glue”) on not-quite-half of the back side of the Basic Black Layer and attach as shown to the folds.
- Use the next to largest rectangle Nested Essentials Die to cut both Basic White and Pool Party card stock pieces. Layer them as shown and stamp greeting of your choice using Pool Party Classic Ink.
- Finally, stamp an image on your envelope using Memento Black ink. Color, using Stampin’ Blends as the spirit moves you.
The reverse side of the Designer Series Paper is quite different from the front for sure!
I hope you try this fun card. You can use 12″ x 12″ card stock or 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Experiment and have fun. Questions??? Please ask me and I’ll do my best to guide you.
