Pretty Perennials Sketched Design

I’ve belonged to a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators called Sudsol (Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing On Line) for years…like at least 15, maybe 20.  We share ideas and concerns and projects and more and it’s just wonderful.  (If you’re a demonstrator and want to know more please send me an email.)

Anyway, yesterday afternoon one of our great members, Jeanne, organized a Zoom call (thank you Covid) where we were going to work together and create cards based on an inspirational layout design.  This one is from demonstrator Mary Fish:

And while you’re making one card, why not make two!?

Construction details:

• • Granny Apple Green card stock:  8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded in half.  I fold away from the ‘valley’ score line and then burnish it (rub over gently but firmly, creating a crisp crease) with a Bone Folder.
    • scraps for die cut scalloped circle and layering under the greeting
  • Basic White card stock:  5-1/4″ x 4″
    • Run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Dainty Diamonds 3-D Embossing Folder.  You’ll use the #4 and #1 plates.
      • Attach to card front
    • Scraps for the 3 flowers, the greeting and the large circle
  • Old Olive card stock:  2″ x 4″ scrap for die cutting the leaves die from the Perennial Petals Dies using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  Be careful when removing the die cut piece from the plate so you keep all those little pieces that usually pop out in place.  Or let them fall away.  Your choice!
    • Attach leaf cluster to card front using Multipurpose Adhesive or the adhesive of your choice.
  • Calypso Coral card stock:  scrap for die cutting flower outline piece (you’ll be using two die pieces to create that little cut out) using the Perennial Petals Dies and Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
  • Still using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and now the Layering Circles Dies, die cut the scalloped circle Granny Apple Green piece and the Basic White piece.
    • Attach the Basic White layer to the scalloped Granny Apple Green layer using adhesive of your choice.
    • Attach both layers to card front using Dimensionals.

• • Also die cut, using the Stitched Rectangles Dies, the Basic White greeting layer.  I used the die that was the narrowist (5/8″ x 2-5/8″).
  • After you’ve stamped your greeting using Calypso Coral Classic Ink, layer the piece onto a Granny Apple Green layer and trim around all 4 edges using Paper Snips or Paper Trimmer.
• Stamp the flowers (large: Calypso Coral), 2 small ones: Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry and die cut them, again using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and appropriate Perennial Petals Dies.
  • Stamp the center of the large flower, using Crumb Cake Classic Ink.
  • Using Calypso Coral scrap, die cut the small thin piece that layers onto the larger flower.   Attach to flower using small drops of “green glue”, aka Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
  • Attach small Daffodil Delight flowers using adhesive of your choice.
  • Attach the larger flower using adhesive of your choice where it attaches to the layered circles and Dimensionals under the petals that overhang the layered circles.
  • Attach the greeting layer by tucking the left end under the flower with adhesive and the right end to the card front with a Dimensional.
• Final step:  attach Elegant Faceted Gems as desired or as shown.
• Optional:  add a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock to the inside of the card and stamp a little image of your choice.
