Have a Hoot Valentine Card

It’s never too early to get started on Valentines for the special people in your life, especially when you’re visiting from out of town, your hubby loves owls and your favorite stamping ‘guru’ is waiting for playtime.  That’s the story of Claudia, visiting her BFF who lives across the park from me.  Claudia was a brand new stamper last time she visited and now she’s anxious to get her stamping fix while in town.  And yes, we observed Covid protocols including laughing a lot.  Good for the creative soul!

After perusing my stash of cards Claudia spotted this little cube card and exclaimed: ” That’s it!  That’s what I want to make.”

Oh my gosh…….I hadn’t made one for months and had to do a little research to get my mojo going.  One of the gals from my local stamping group had shown us, and left us with a pattern and instructions, which I was able to locate.  So off we went.  Claudia opted for the larger cube card.  I neglected to take a photo of the finished card that fit into the envelope I made for her using the retired Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board.  The finished card, laying flat, was 8-1/2″ x 6″ and the largest envelope the punch board could make was 6 x 8-1/2″.  Perfect!  Required was an 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ piece of paper so we used a 12″ x 12″ piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.….a nice soft woodgrain pattern.  Again, perfect!

I promise to duplicate this project in the next few days.  In the meantime, I’m swamped with reality.  It’s not nearly as difficult as it appears.  And the result is so FUN and such a WOW.  The most important supplies will be your Paper Trimmer and Bone Folder.

I’m very anxious to share the ‘how to’ with you!  In the meantime, find a favorite stamp set or choose a theme, like birthday, floral, donkeys, spring and three colors of card stock.  You’ll need 12″ x 12″ for the larger project.  8-1/2″ x 11″ is all you need for the smaller one.  See you soon.
