Finally, after being in Idaho for seven months now (yes, really!), still with a garage full of boxes, I got myself organized enough to offer my favorite monthly class at the Avimor Community Center in the subdivision where we live. Â This favorite class is the one I taught (more like facilitated) at the Little Library in the Woods in Mi Wuk Village, CA for fourteen years before moving to Boise.
Yesterday we made two fun cards:
and
Since I was going to be interfacing with totally new stampers of ‘who-knows-what-skill/knowlege-level’, I wanted our cards to be fun but not too complicated. Â I think I met that criteria.
The ideas for both cards were presented at the Creativate Online Retreat* in April. Â (oh. what. fun.)
Let’s start with the first card.

Measurements & how-to assemble:
- Whisper White Thick card stock: 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″
- Fold in half at 5-1/2 as for a regular card; then fold “backwards” on the remaining score line forming a ‘z’ fold.
- Stamp a small scrap of this card stock with a greeting of your choice and punch it out. Â I used the Classic Label Punch. Â Set aside until it’s time to attach the greeting to the Bumble Bee layer using a Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper: Â 5-1/2″ x 2-3/4″
- Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (aka “green glue”), attach this piece to right end of 4-1/4″ x 11″ card base.
- Bumble Bee card stock: 4″ x 3″
- Run through Big Shot (or other die cutting machine) using the (retired) Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
- Attach to front section of folded back card stock being sure to put adhesive (green glue) on only 1/2 of the back side of the piece.
- On a small scrap of Bumble Bee card stock, using Bumble Bee Classic Ink, stamp a small butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. Â Punch it out using the Butterfly Duet punch. Â Attach to leaves on card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Mint Macaron card stock: scrap for stamping 3 leaves. Â Be sure to place the stem of the leaf cluster toward the bottom edge of the scrap.
- Using the retired Leaf Punch, punch out all three images.
- Using ‘green glue’ attach these leave randomly to the center area of the Bumble Bee card stock piece.
- Add a greeting of your choice in the 5-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ area on the inside area of the card. Â I used a greeting created on a PDF by Stampin’ Up! as a part of a Covid-19 fundraiser promo in May. Â Sadly it’s no longer available.

Measurements & how-to assemble:
- Petal Pink card stock:  8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded to create the card base; also 5-1/4″ x 4″, run through the Big Shot or other die cutting machine, using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  Attach this layer to the card front using Stampin’ Seal adhesive or Multipurpose Liquid Glue (aka ‘green glue’).
- Whisper White card stock: 4″ x 1-3/4″ and a scrap for stamping and punching out your greeting
- Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4″ x 1-1/2″
- Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon: Â about 10″; wrap around DSP piece as shown (left end) and tie in a knot. Â Trim ends. Â Attach these decorated pieces to the card front as shown in photo.
- Mossy Meadow Classic Ink:  stamp greeting of choice onto Whisper White card stock scrap; punch out using punch of your choice.  (I used the Everyday Label punch which is retired.)
- Mossy Meadow card stock scrap: Â using the same punch, punch a piece from the scrap. Â Cut it in half horizontally. Â Attach to the back of the greeting-stamped-layer, one piece peeking out from the top and the other piece peeking out from the bottom. Â Best practice is to apply the adhesive (I prefer the liquid/’green’ glue for this process so I can slide the pieces as needed) to the back of the stamped piece and then lay it on top of the contrasting scrap pieces. Â Attach to card front using four Dimensionals.
