Soft Blossoming Basket Card

Today I’m sharing my final soft Blossoming Basket card.  It’s quite simple, with the addition of a few pieces of ribbon.

Even though the butterfly is tiny it definitely adds a lot to the balance and interest of the card.  Check the card out below…….it has no butterfly.  I’ll be adding my greeting when I’m ready to send the card.  It could be a birthday, a thinking of you, a gift, Mother’s Day.  Almost anything.

My favorite thing about this card is the color added to the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.  This folder can only be redeemed from the second Sale-A-Bration brochure, valid from February 16 – March 31, 2018.  It’s FREE with a $100 dollar purchase.  The good news is that the Basket Weave folder will be available in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

How did I get the brownish color inside the ‘weaves’ of the embossing folder?  I added some stamp pad ink to the inside of the folder before running it through the Big Shot.  Not being sure which side needed the addition of Crumb Cake Classic Ink, I added it on both inside surfaces of the folder.  Just gently pat the pad over the entire textured surfaces, insert a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock, and run it through the Big Shot.  You’ll quickly notice that all you’ll need, along with the Dynamic Folder, are the Big Shot Platform and one Standard Cutting Pad.  Both of those are included with the Big Shot.  Yes, two Cutting Pads are included.  You need just the one pad though when using a Dynamic Embossing Folder.

TIPS:  Be sure to run the Dynamic Embossing Folder spine-first through the Big Shot.  If you want even more depth from the pattern you can spritz (Stampin’ Spritzer) the paper with water before putting it into the embossing folder.

I used the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends for the blossoms, the Old Olive Combo for the leaves and the Crumb Cake Combo for the basket. The ribbon is the lovely Calypso Coral 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon,  two pieces, each one about 5-1/4″ long.  Wrap each piece around the Whisper White and Old Olive layers (which have been attached to each other) and adhere on the back with a strong adhesive such as Fast Fuse.

Attach those layers to the Calypso Coral card front.

Attach the basket with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Attach the butterfly with a Mini Glue Dot.

Question for you:  Would you rather have

  1. Links to products included in the paragraph where the product appears?
  2. Links to products in a group with photos of each product?
  3. It really doesn’t matter?

Please leave a comment for me.  It would be interesting to know.  🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s soft Blossoming Basket card.  I’ve really enjoyed making all of them.  I have another idea for later this week and then I’ll be done with the set for awhile.
