The first weekend in December is always highlighted with card making machines coming to my mountain home. These are human card making machines. By the time they all leave on Sunday somewhere between 350-450 holiday cards have been made.
This year, for various reasons * , three regulars were missing and one ‘newbie’ joined us so our ‘machine’ totals were a bit lower,making “only” about 300 cards. *Memorial service, 50th birthday bash, moved to Idaho!
The weekend starts with a kickoff signature cocktail followed by Butternut Squash Soup. Usually we stamp after dinner, or at least get our projects set up. Then on Saturday we start off running — actually stamping — after a casual breakfast.
Late afternoon arrivals kick off with a Godiva White Chocolate, Vanilla Vodka, Peppermint Schnapps martini, sometimes followed by setting up our stamping for the next day.

Saturday.
This is Christy’s workshop. Various layers are trimmed to size, Washi tape at the ready: Garden Green card base, Whisper White layer, photo, layered greeting. Inside has a Garden Green greeting stamped on a Whisper White layer. Christy made at least 125 cards.
Kelly’s work station:
This was Kelly’s first marathon weekend and it took awhile to establish the look she wanted based on “no clue”.
Great end results! (Although the coloring in the photo is quite lousy.) She used the Card Front Builder Thinlits Die directly on the photo, layered onto a 4″ x 3″ piece of Night of Navy card stock and then layered on a Smoky Slate card base. The Peaceful Wishes greeting was pulled from some retired stamps I keep on hand for this event, and then embossed onto a banner of Vellum Cardstock and heat embossed using retired Hologram Highlights embossing powder.
