The reason the class is called Stamping for Adults is that, way back in February of 2004 when it started, several mommies came to the library and wanted to have their little ones stamp cards along with them. The librarian insisted that the class was for adults only, that children had their own craft area. Hence the class name of Stamping for Adults.
I always look forward, on the third Thursday of every month, to stamping with friends, neighbors and new stampers at our little Library in the Woods. For $3 everyone makes two cards and has a great time, sharing supplies and catching up with their personal activities. The more stampers we have, the longer it takes to complete a card but that’s not a real worry. We have two full hours to finish and we’re all working together. Yesterday we had 13 participants. “Normal” is 5-8. I always prep for ten.
Everyone gets a chance to play ‘teacher’ and help the person beside her when we’re doing a new technique or learning a new skill. I’m always watching to see if any area of the tables falls behind.
Today we made two Thank You cards: a pocket card and a Jar of Life card. Totally different colors, patterns and techniques.
The cards above were made using the colors and Designer Series Papers of the 2016-1018 In Colors.
All measurements and assembly details for both cards will be available on March 19th. Cost: $2.50. The PDF will be sent via email. Sorry to say, the PayPal button is not working today (or yesterday!) so please email me, blythe@stampingwithblythe.com, if you’re interested in purchasing the tutorial.
Despite having 13 participants yesterday it was a calm and efficient and FUN time together. I thank everyone for attending and hanging in with the rotation of the supplies. Stamping for Adults at our Mi Wuk Library is great therapy and inspires a strong sense of accomplishment.
