Rather than send FaceBook greetings to my friends in Germany and England, Switzerland and the Netherlands, I’m going to send this fun globe-l greeting. I used the Places You’ll Go photopolymer stamp set since hopping on a plane just isn’t in the cards this month. (cards–get it? cards!?) You’ll notice I did throw the plane on the card anyway!
As a college physical geography graduate I’m always a ‘sucker’ for a stamp set with a globe in it. This set is no exception.
You can create a great card for someone who’s taking their first solo trip to Europe: “adventure awaits”.
Or, create a great card for a guest in your home who’s come from far away, perhaps on their first airplane trip: “welcome”.
Or create a great card for someone lucky enough to be taking a cruise or touring Europe via train : “Oh, the places you will go”.
My card:
- Card Stock:
- Whisper White Thick: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded; 3-1/4″ x 4″
- Real Red: 4-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ plus small scrap for punching out hearts
- Night of Navy: 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
- Pool Party: 3″ square scrap
- Classic Ink:
- Accessories:
- Dimensionals
- 2″ Circle Punch
- Confetti Hearts Border Punch
- Multipurpose Liquid Glue
- Clear Blocks, A, B, D, E
Consider treating yourself to a Clear Block Storage Caddy so you can keep all of your clear blocks in one tidy place.
TIP: If your globe image doesn’t stamp perfectly — like mine below — try placing a Stampin’ Pierce Mat under your card stock before you stamp. See the difference in photo 1 and photo 2 below?
I’m looking forward to sending variations of this card to my host families from my own European adventure last November. Right now that means France, France and Germany.
#sendmorehandmadecards Challenge yourself to send 3-5 cards each month to unsuspecting recipients. Not just birthday cards (which are definitely great) but ‘just because’ cards as well.
