OR…..OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CARD STAMPING WEEKEND
Another Christmas Card Making Weekend has come and gone, this year without any snow which was fine. I have hosted this event for 10-11 years now, at first the first weekend in November and now, the first weekend in December. It started with my daughter, Andrea, and up to 6 of her friends who were invited to our home in the mountains for a pampered, child/husband/chores free weekend.
Ten years ago they all needed lots of help and then went into ‘machine mode’. Now they come up, usually with a stack of this year’s family photo, their supply orders placed a few weeks ago and awaiting them, card construction in their heads, ready to hit the paper cutters and get going. AFTER we share a toast with the ‘signature cocktail’ of the year.
Homemade grenadine from 100% pomegranate juice, White Tequila, Grand Marnier, pomegranate seeds (remember–they are very good for you) and ginger ale. Sugar rimmed glass. Bottom line review from me: too sweet but OK. Last year’s was far more festive and ‘wow’-like (and potent!).
But…..enough of the warm up cocktail.
As soon as the gals entered my newly renovated stampin’ studio, they began cutting all necessary pieces, card stock as well as Designer Series Paper. Then came assembly.
Christy has mass production down to a science! Lay out as many pieces of card stock (or photos) as she has space for and then apply Snail Adhesive and attach to the card base. Christy is the mother of two boys, (6th and 3rd grades) the youngest who joined us as a nursing infant one year about 7 years ago; she’s an enthusiastic middle school science teacher.
Her finished cards:
This card is very clean and simple. Inside is a hand stamped greeting. Do you recognize the 1″ piece from the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack. It will be retiring on January 4, 2016 or when supplies run out so if you want to use it I’d definitely recommend ordering yours soon.
Can you believe there are only 3 supply items used for Christy’s card?

Plus her family photo. Nice job Christy! I’ll have more of our creations in the next few days. There were definitely some fun ones. Have you started your Christmas or holiday cards? There are lots of ideas out there.
