In honor of the Supreme Court decision this past week I had to make something to just say ‘yes‘. I’m going to send today’s card to my step-daughter and her partner to just remind them of our love and support. She already knows that but now they have a card that makes it visible.
I’ve really been wanting to use this particular mask. I think it looks kind of like those plastic doorway ‘curtains’ from the 70s. I also want to try out different ways of coloring the masks. I’ve used the spritzer (upcoming post) so for this card I decided to try my Sponge Daubers.
First I secured the Whisper White card front layer (5-1/4″ x 4″) to grid paper with a few smears of 2-Way Glue. I put the 2-Way Glue on the grid paper, let it dry to get tacky and then set the card stock on it. I also put a few smears of the 2-Way Glue to the top (above the card stock) of the mask. Then I laid a piece of scrap paper on the diagonal and sponged color 1 above it. Skooch the scrap paper down a bit, still on a diagonal, and sponge color 2, etc etc etc.
After stamping the greeting in Cucumber Crush on Whisper White card stock I let my Big Shot cut it out with a Deco Label Framelit and then layered it on the next size larger framelit. The layers were attached to the card front with Dimensionals. The little Daffodil Delight paper clip was added for a wee bit of pop.

And on this Fourth of July Eve (new holiday???) I got a great hour walk in this morning, leaving at 6.30 a.m. When the weather is this hot and sticky I have to get going early or——I’ll weasel my way out of walking the rest of the day. I know how good I feel when ‘doing the right thing’ and getting my exercise.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping in. Be safe if you’re traveling. Be wise if you’re staying home. Fireworks aren’t allowed in our county (low population, too many trees and dry grasses) so that’s one thing we’ll be missing tomorrow.
If you’re in the Sonora CA area, come 15 miles up Hwy 108 to our Fire Station for a 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. 8 – 11 a.m. Proceeds go to our Fire Auxiliary for benefit of our great Mi Wuk / Sugar Pine fire department’s needs.
