You can color me all shades of crazy this morning. Tuesday afternoon I began gutting my stamp room. My daughter has been pulling ideas from Pinterest for awhile and she knows how frustrated I’ve been with my studio and the ‘stuff’ that just can’t seem to find a home. Her bottom line comment:
Mom, you just have too much stuff in the room and you need to really clean it out. “Let’s (that implies US) totally empty it, have Russ build you a work table with storage, paint the walls, and then put it all back together.”
She lives 120 miles from me, has a husband, 3 kids under 11 plus 2 dogs. There is not much “US” going to be involved but she’s getting daily/hourly photos and we’ve done some FaceTime to work through this together. To think I just did a ‘major clean-up’ in there — the work table was clean but there was still the stuff around the room on the floor — not in drawers or cabinets. It will be g-o-n-e.
Honestly, it’s very exciting and I’m all for it. But it will be cutting into my creativity a bit. I’ve reserved the clean spot on my work table and will need a daily creative break. We’ll see together just what it’s going to look like.
Today’s reality glimpse of where IT is starting:
The cabinet with the open doors has been totally emptied, a few goodies (2 heat tools!) have been found, much has been trashed and the cabinet is now on the deck outside the door. Next target, the ‘stuff’ on the chair (mostly Christmas items!?) and the “Folsom Prison mail sorting unit” you see to the left of the cabinet. Pearl Ex, a few Craft Pads, Spectrum Pads and more reside in those cubby holes. They’ll go into my Cyber Yard Sale.
Have a great day. Comments welcome. And it’s time for me to hit the floor and get busy with today’s goals. Really………this is fun. This is fun. This is fun……….. Really!
Looking good! I really do wish I could be helping….. Can’t wait to see it next week…. 9 days!
