About Blythe….Updated!

If you love exploring your creativity, you’ll feel right at home here. It’s about Blythe….updated

I came upon the following blog post this week while updating some of my stamping endeavors. There’s some rather outdated information. Like……I’ve now been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for 27 years rather than 20. Allow me to share this old post with you, making updates in bold type now and then!

My name is Blythe and I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for (20) 27 years. I definitely love sharing new ideas, techniques, and products to help others create fun projects no matter what their budget or level of craftiness. Beginners are welcome here!

Update: This photo was taken at my 70th birthday celebration at my daughter’s home in Dublin CA.

You’ll find great craft ideas using both new and tried-and-true products, card inspiration for all occasions, dimensional projects (like gift boxes and decor), and easy-to-follow tutorials along with the latest color trends, exciting new stamp sets, and all of the promotions offered by Stampin’ Up!

Teaching others is part of my DNA. I’ve been a tutor since I was in the sixth grade, a substitute teacher after graduating college with a degree in Geography, a teacher’s aid while my kids were in elementary school, and, finally, a teacher of rubber stamp art once they were in college.  Today I teach classes in my home and throughout my community in California’s beautiful gold country. We can update that location to the amazing foothills of the northeast edge of BOISE, IDAHO—Avimor to be exact.

Before becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in 1996, I was an infrequent stamper with a hodgepodge collection of various company’s products. It wasn’t until I was introduced to Stampin’ Up!’s coordinated stamps, card stock and accessories – something truly unique in those days – that stamping suddenly became easy and convenient. I was immediately hooked. Twenty seven years later, it’s not only my favorite hobby but a nice/fun business as well.

After retiring from jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2003, my husband and I moved 150 miles east, to our cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of northern California. It is here that I host stamping classes and events in my newly renovated studio over the garage, teach my monthly Stamping For Adults class at our charming Mi Wuk Village library, and continue to build my stamping business. We can amend that statement to say that I now host semi-monthly stamping classes, monthly Kit Togethers and Christmas Card Buffets and various other classes in the Boise area. I’m also fortunate enough to conduct classes every other month at Potter Wines in Garden City.

I’d love to hold a stamping class for you and your friends in your home or my studio in Mi Wuk Village, showing you all how to create your own hand-stamped treasures.  That needs to be updated to “your home or my kitchen ‘studio’ in Avimor…… And I’d be most pleased if you’d call me your demonstrator and purchase your Stampin’ Up! products through me.  If you’re interested in creating your own home-based business, please consider becoming a stampin up demonstrator. You can be a demonstrator in several ways, basically active or passive. The only requirement is sales (to yourself and/or others) each quarter of $300. And that requirements doesn’t take effect until after your first full quarter as a demonstrator. This current quarter just began with October/November/December. So the end of you first full quarter wouldn’t be until MARCH 3oth of 2024! You’ll also get a 20-25% discount on your purchases! 🙂 We can talk about this if/when you’d like to.

Be sure to sign up for my monthly newsletter for the latest stamping news, tips, techniques, questions/answers and class schedule. My newsletter will be resumed in November 2023. It’s been ‘on vacation’ for quite a while now!

Other than stamping I love to knit, camp, golf and volunteer in my community. And I’m not doing much of those activities since we arrived in Idaho at Christmas of 2019. Covid hit shortly thereafter and life kind of changed!

Beyond this blog you can find me sharing ideas and inspiration on Facebook and Pinterest. StampingWithBlythe on FB and just my name on Pinterest. It’s been interesting (to me!) coming upon this seven year old post that’s still quite true regarding my position with stamping, classes and playmates. The really big change was in re-location in December 2019 and beginning a new life here in Idaho.

Now you’re up to date on my background as well as my current life in Idaho. My stamping opportunities have expanded and have been FUN beyond my wildest dreams. I look forward in the near future to live encounters via video or via Zoom so I can stamp and play with stampers from across our great country as well as around the world. Who would have thought this 27 years ago?

Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.

Feel free to leave a (Google) review of your experiences with me and our stamping. It’s a way for me to learn how I affect your creativity!
