What do I love about the Sheltering Tree stamp set? It is so versatile! It’s also heartwarming, friendly, cuddly, fresh and more.
Where I live in California we’re pretty much giving up on the non-existent winter we didn’t have and are ready to welcome spring. (We’ve had the plow on our CJ-7 and the snow-blower at the ready since November. They were used once. In November. It’s time to move on.)
So I decided to pull out Sheltering Tree and invite spring to visit.
All stamped items, except for the Happy Birthday greeting, are from the Sheltering Tree stamp set. That greeting is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.
I hadn’t framed an image for a long time and have been thinking about it lately, so here it is. I used the fourth from the smallest oval from the Oval Collection Framelits. And then I pierced around the oval (72 holes!) using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.
In order to get the tree base in the center of the oval, I first stamped the shape onto my Stamp-a-ma-jig sheet using a dark ink. Then I position the plastic sheet over the oval window getting it just where I want it, pull away the plastic sheet, ink up the stamp (Baked Brown Sugar), and stamp the tree on the Whisper White card stock.
What I love about this set is the happy little pieces that are included with it. Foliage for the tree. It can be pink, green or brownish or more! Stems and flowers: I made mine ‘daffodils’ today but yours can be any variety or color you want. A bicycle: you can change the color of it’s frame. A swing. Snowflakes! Fallen leaves and a rake. Such variety and potential! Oh yeah—and 4 great greetings. I love the casual script of the greetings.
You can create a lot more than a $5.00 store bought card with this set. Try it, you’ll like it!
I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today. Be sure to get your order placed for any Weekly Deals you may have wanted from last week’s Deals because they’ll be gone tonight at midnight, replaced by new ones tomorrow. See you then.
