Yes folks, I surprised myself yesterday when I sat down in my Stamping Sanctuary* to make a ‘mystery card’. I was following step by step instructions towards an “I have no clue what it’s going to look like when I’m finished” card. I had chosen my Designer Paper: the beautiful Delicate Dreams 12″ x 12″ DSP.

When I sat down to attack my project I had no plan whatsoever. But after gathering a few of the suggested supplies I had an aha moment…..use this beautiful paper to make my brother’s 50th wedding anniversary card. The result definitely made me happy:

I used several retired products as well as current ones:
- Card base: Hydrangea Hue
- Card layers: Crumb Cake, Basic White
- Ink: Hydrangea Hue, Golden Glow, Peaceful Pine
- Stamps/Dies/Embossing Folders: Alphabet a La Mode (2023-25), Number of Years (2016), So Swirly Embossing Folder
- Other: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Scoring Board, scissors, Dimensionals
- “instructions” – Sharon Armstrong’s July 6, 2026, Mystery Stamping (on Facebook) step-by-step instructions. No photos, no tips, just follow your ‘gut’ with her step-by-step guidance!
And today, my finished card is in the outgoing mailbox!
* I finally have named my stamping room my Stamping Sanctuary. About 15-20 years ago –maybe more–my dear friend Cindy made a sign for our ‘cabin’ in Mi Wuk Village, CA. The cabin became our full time home eventually. Then when we moved to Idaho 6.5 years ago, the sign came with us. And after a fews years here it found its new home in the room I had captured for my stamping space. It makes me smile.

I’d forgotten that this photo was actually a 6″ x 6″ scrapbook page. It’s hanging on the wall next to the clock in the image above this one. Come back tomorrow for “the rest of the story”.
