Another Monday Mystery Stamping Project

I honestly enjoy our monthly Mystery Stamping classes that are held in my home. I’m fortunate to have an expanding dining room table that can easily accommodate twelve stampers. This day it accommodated nine. Next time we’ll add another leaf.

We used the fun and flocked Velvet Meadow 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (167904). Click here to see it in my Stampin’ Up! store. As of this posting I’m sorry to say it’s ‘unavailable’. Usually that translates as super popular and currently sold out. It’ll be back in stock shortly I hope.

I provide the supplies for my gals and then I offer them instructions. Without any TIPS! (What a meanie!) It’s amazing to see the different outcomes depending upon how the stampers interpret the instructions.

Mystery stamping at Blythe's home
We gather on the first Monday of every month to create a mystery project. Yes—it’s fun! Lots of laughs .

Everyone received a 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Velvet Meadow DSP, an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of card stock — actually a piece of Cloud Cover and a piece of Berry Burst, the two main colors in the DSP–choose to use one or the other–, a Basic White scrap (for stamping the greeting), scraps of the card base colors for placing under their greeting. On the table were pieces of Peaceful Pine card stock in case they want to die cut a supporting image as they finished their cards.

The basic instruction was to cut two 1/2″ x 5-1/4″ pieces from the piece of DSP they were given. Place those 3 pieces in any pattern you want on your Basic White 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of card stock. Attach that layer to the card front. Create greeting pieces (ANY shape that works for you, layering it with the scrap that is the same as the card base. <<Pop greeting up with Dimensionals. Add any die cuts that suit you–if any at all. And your card is done!

These are the cards at the end of ‘class’:

You can do it! The “different” card in the second row was created by a very crafty 15 year old boy–it features a pop up inside. I didn’t get a photo of that part unfortunately. My two cards, which I finally shared after everyone had finished their card, are in the upper left corner. I just LOVE seeing the thought and creativity that shows up with these mystery projects.

Too bad we aren’t having fun huh?

This is indeed one of the easiest cards we’ve ever made but they were also put together so creatively. Wouldn’t YOU love to receive one in your mailbox?

Hopefully I find the ‘link’ to my signature soon so I feel as if my post is complete. In the meantime I’m still…………
