Thinking of You from Grace’s Garden

I am loving the Grace’s Garden stamp set from the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog and I’ve been going overboard making different cards with Grace’s set and the coordinating Garden Gateway Dies.  These two products are also available as a bundle where you can save 10% while the January-June Mini Catalog is active.

Graces Garden Stamp Set and Garden Gateway Dies

This is the 4th Grace’s Garden card I’ve made in a 20 hour stampathon.  Can you say addicted?  Turn the card stock this way or that way,  add the cat, don’t add the cat, decide which flowers to use, gate only, full fence, etc.  And I’ve also attempted to change up colors as well.

Today’s card used Calypso Coral card stock (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) as the card base, topped by a Whisper White card stock layer, 5-1/4″ x 4″.

The gate was stamped using Gray Granite Classic Ink right onto the Whisper White layer.  Then, on a scrap of Whisper White card stock,  I stamped the hollyhocks using Memento Black ink and colored them in using the Old Olive and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Combos and die cut them using the appropriate Garden Gateway dies and my die cutting machine.

I stamped the bird using Blueberry Bushel classic ink and then went over the freshly stamped image using the Clear Wink of Stella Marker.  Did you know you could use it as you would the Aqua Painter to pick up color?  I just brushed over the lines of the bird and the blue gently filled in the image.  Plus it added some sparkle.

….with stamped envelope….Remember….”no naked envelopes”.  I try to coordinate my envelopes to my card.

I also added a piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card, same dimensions as the front layer.  Then I stamped another ‘clump’ of flowers to that inside layer.  This would be a happy card for anyone to receive.  Again, I’ll be sending most of these Grace’s Garden cards to friends I haven’t seen for all too long.  A positive aspect of this self-isolation/quarantining is having the time to sit back and write a letter or card to someone whose day you’d like to add a spark to.

TIP:  You know how hard it sometimes is to reposition framelits, thinlits and dies after you’ve used them?  Well, when your order comes into your house, as immediately as possible, open the dies package and lay the dies on a photocopier and copy the image.  Better yet, copy two die sets at a time and get two set to one sheet of printer paper.  Cut the print of each set down to size and put it in your embossing package.  It makes it easy to get a peak of what’s inside without sliding the folder out and examining the die shapes.  The photo on the left, below, is my photo copy; on the right is the original packaging.  It makes it much easier to know how to position the dies once you’ve used them also.  At other times, I’ve outlined each die with a fine tip marker to note the location for each piece.
