While this definitely isn’t a quick card it is, without a doubt, delightful. Yes, it does use a lot of product to get it done. Unless you’re a new stamper, you’ll already have many of the necessary products. I’ve been stamping for many years and I’m obviously a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and I do make it a point to always have at least one package of each color of card stock on hand. You just never know what color you’re going to want to use next. I also have a full assortment of Classic Inks as well as Ink Refills.
Today’s card uses the following card stocks:
-
- Whisper White Thick: 4-1/4″ x 11″
- Whisper White: scraps for die cut bits and pieces
- Rococo Rose: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
- Crumb Cake: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Granny Apple Green: scrap for leaf “branches”
It uses Rococo Rose Classic Ink.
It uses the following Stampin’ Blends:
- Granny Apple Green, light
- Highland Heather, light
- Mango Melody, light and dark
- Pretty Peacock, light
- Rococo Rose, light and dark
It uses the following Tools and Accessories:
-
- Die Cutting Machine
- Garden Gateway Dies
- Brick & Mortar 3-D Embossing Folder This is a great basic dry embossing folder to have on hand when you want some texture or pop to a card.
- Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Run the Crumb Cake layer through the die cutting machine using the Brick & Mortar 3-D Embossing Folder. Be sure to place your card stock in the proper position so the bricks will be horizontal on your card!
Using Whisper White card stock, die cut the arch and gate. Attach the layers, lining up the arches as well as you can. Any bits peeking out will be covered by the arch which you will attach using Liquid Multipurpose Glue, aka Tombow Glue. Apply the glue to the arch only.
Color in the various flowers using Stampin’ Blends. Attach the little bird using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
Stamp the greeting inside the card ( I used Rococo Rose ink) by closing the card and carefully lining up the greeting through the arch. Be brave–you can do it!
Stamp the greeting on a Whisper White scrap (again I used Rococo Rose ink) and then position the die over it and run through the die cutting machine.
At this point, using Paper Snips, cut up the middle of the gate so the two sides can gently open. Attach the greeting to one side of the gate only.
If you want, stamp one or two of the Grace’s Garden stamp set images inside the card, to the left or right of the inside greeting. I stamped the flowers first, then stamped again on a sticky note and and cut it out, creating a mask. Lay the mask over the flowers inside the card and then I stamped the little fence pieces twice. Remove the mask. Finally gently color the images using Stampin’ Blends.
After you’ve admired your finished card, select some luck someone and send it out to them a.s.a.p. During this time of hibernating in place your will really make someone’s day. I have three more finished cards to share with you, easier and faster to create than this one, so stay tuned. You might prefer to make one (or four) of those cards. Together you and I can make a lot of people’s days!
Please please please ask if you have any questions regarding this or any card or project you’re working on. I’ll do my very best to guide you out of your dilemma or frustration. blythe@stampingwithblythe.com
