Today I’d like to share a few of my favorite swap cards. I took three groups of cards with me for swapping with other stampers. Groups 1, 2, and 3 were for an organized swap and are the cards I’m showing below. Any extras from those swaps I exchanged with the general crowd of 6,500 stampers!
As you probably know, I spent last week in Orlando Florida, attending Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary Celebration On Stage Convention. Despite my always good intentions, when it came time to go bed each night I had to crash rather than fill you in with the day’s activities. And once I returned home……..well, let it suffice to say I’ve had an absolutely non-stop week.
This first card, with the kitty sitting on a chair next to a brick wall (for which I used the ‘brick’ mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks) and White Embossing Paste which I tinted with a drop of Crumb Cake Ink Refill) is one of my highest pinned cards on Pinterest. It’s so simple yet really eye catching. So I changed up my Pinterest card by using the Embossing Paste rather than a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink pad.
One of my very favorite stamp sets is Waterfront. The simple images create beautiful landscapes. Since I live in the mountains, this is a perfect card to send to a friend who lives far away……across the miles. I used the Lift Me Up stamp set for the words.
And finally my Dandelion Wishes card. I had to have the Dandelion Wishes stamp set but didn’t use it for several months so I challenged myself to use that stamp set and the Brusho Crystal Colours, Prussian Blue to be exact. I’ll have a tutorial on this card in a few days, showing the step by step process. It’s not a quick and easy card since you have to sit back and wait for the ‘Brusho-ed’ layer to dry.
Here are a few of my favorite cards received in return for my cards. And honestly, almost every card could be a favorite card! These cards came from an organized swap from the Sudsol group I belong to. If you’re a demonstrator and don’t know Sudsol you might want to check it out. Simply Unique Demonstrator Sharing On Line.
This is just a lovely all-year-round card. Created by Cherie Hunt of Ohio, using the Floral Frame Bundle.
This whimsical card just has to make you smile. Created by Sue Myers from Indiana (who happens to have been one of my Orlando roommates), using the Spirited Snowmen stamp set.
Although there is a lot of coloring on this card, it just brings out the warmth of being HOME for the holidays, in person or at heart. Created by Bev Farmer from Maryland and she used the I’ll be Home stamp set.
I’ll be posting a few more of my favorite swap cards over the next few days.
