Brusho Watercolor Ink Crystals Take One! As I mentioned yesterday, the 2018 Occasions and Sale-a-Brations catalogs will be going live on January 3, 2018. As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I was able to pre-order and ‘test drive’ some of the new products and the first one I played with was Brusho. Funny name you say? I wasn’t in charge.
Brusho is a highly concentrated powder packed full of color crystals that come in little jars or pots. I decided that my first projects had to be easy and, hopefully, pretty much full proof and pretty much with me in control.
Using Shimmery White Cardstock, VersaMark Ink and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder, I stamped and heat embossed two flowers and a butterfly.
To (cowardly) apply the Brusho, I generously applied water with my Aqua Painter inside the embossed areas and then sprinkled various colors of the product and watched the colors move around and pop vibrantly. Then I added an layer of the primary color showing in each card and attached those layers to a Whisper White Note Card.
Yellow, Gamboge, Brilliant Red and Moss Green were added by sprinkling bits into the water puddles and then moving it around only a tad with an Aqua Painter. The greeting, also in the Beautiful Day stamp set, was stamp with Real Red Classic ink and heat embossed with Clear Emboss Powder.
The leaf on the card above was colored in using Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink and an Aqua Painter. The greeting was stamped on Vellum Cardstock using Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink and also heat embossed with Clear Emboss Powder.
The butterfly on the card above was colored in using Moss Green and Prussian Blue Brusho and an Aqua Painter. The greeting was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Island Indigo Classic Ink and also heat embossed with Clear Emboss Powder. The layer under the watercolored piece is also Island Indigo.Â

These Brusho colors blend beautifully with Stampin’ Up!’s colors and are going to offer infinite color combinations.
I’m going to a luncheon reunion with gals from my high school class tomorrow and decided that these three cards will be my ‘white elephant’/gift item that is under $10 in value. We can all use note cards and I hope these are well received.
