Threading an Ornament

I’ll bet threading an ornament wasn’t the first thought you had this morning!  But if you were making one of these cute gift boxes it might have been!

My sister, Janet, and I made several of these little boxes, complete with a few gift enclosure cards, this past weekend.  Janet came up with a great idea/tip for sliding the piece of seemingly too large Mini Tinsel Trim through the little opening in the oh-so-cute Mini Ornaments.

You’ll need:

Position the Copper Metallic Thread around the piece of Mini Tinsel Trim.

Then poke the two ends of the copper thread through the eye of the ornament.  You’ll have to pull with a purpose!  After about three ornaments, the copper thread will snap and you’ll need a new piece.

Then pull the cut/short end of the tinsel trim through the eye of the ornament to the length you need and loop it over your bow or wherever you’re trying to hang your ornament.  Tie a loop knot or whatever ‘securing method’ that works for you.

How fun is this little gift?  A mini pizza box, a stamp, a punch, some designer series paper and card stock and a bit of imagination.

Just click on any of the product images above to be taken directly to my Stampin’ Up! online store so you can get the supplies to make your own awesome gifts for special friends.

And the biggest trick in the project?  Threading an ornament with the tinsel trim.  🙂
