I’m All Ready for Tomorrow’s Card Buffet

My monthly Card Buffet, $24 for eight cards/envelopes, is tomorrow and I’m all set to go.  It’s such a good feeling to be completely ready a day ahead of time!

Have you ever wondered what I go through to get ready for the Buffet?

First I select the cards for the month.  Then, as I put each card together I prepare a comprehensive tutorial with a photo of the card plus all supplies used, measurements where necessary, and step-by-step instructions.

After registration closes the week before the actual Buffet I take about half a day to pre-cut the cardstock for each participant.  I put the number of the card (1-8) in pencil on the left side of the envelope.  This month everyone has opted to make one each of all eight cards.  That’s a first.  Usually a guest will make, say, 3 of card #5, 2 of card #6 and one each of three others for a total of eight cards.

It’s really a lot of fun during the Buffet.  I do my best to not duplicate a stamp set or ink pad with the eight cards so there’s no need to share supplies.   This month those doing card #8 will have to use the big shot to prepare one of the layers.  Usually layers are limited to two since we are creating eight cards in two hours.

How does it function?  Each person starts with a  different project number, makes their card, puts everything back in the basket and moves on to another project.  No one is working from the same basket at the same time.  When all of their supplies are gone they’ve done all eight of their cards.  It’s fun.  We chat.  We laugh.  I provide a very light and c-l-e-a-n snack, like pretzels.  And water.  In short stubby glasses.  We all need to drink more water!

This is what the gals will see when they walk in tomorrow:

If you aren’t able to attend my Card Buffet in person, I do create a complete tutorial each month that includes all supplies plus cutting instructions for each card, available for purchase for $4.00.

And then I also offer the complete tutorial plus pre-cut/punched/die-cut cardstock + envelopes for each card for $14.00.  The only thing I’m not allowed to do per Stampin’ Up!’s rules is to stamp your images.

I look forward to perhaps seeing you in person for March’s Card Buffet.   The Buffet is always on the last Tuesday of the month in my Country Loft Studio in Mi Wuk Village, CA., first session at 10 a.m., the other at 2 p.m.   Don’t forget, there’s always the tutorial if you aren’t able to attend in person.  Class in-person attendees will receive the tutorial via email upon request as a part of their class purchase.

I almost forgot to remind you that you can see February’s Buffet cards by clicking on the green honeycomb box at the upper right:  Blythe’s Buffet.
