WHEN IN DOUBT, SCORE OUT

What’s that you say?

WHEN IN DOUBT, SCORE OUT.

When you’re making a card and you’ve scored your card stock do you ever just stop and wonder which way to fold that score line?  Well, try repeating this little ditty:

WHEN IN DOUBT, SCORE OUT.

That translates as ‘when you fold your card in half along the score line, place the ‘trough’ line–the one that you scored–on the outside of your card.’  The pushed out side of the score line goes on the inside of the card.

When in doubt score out
8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
When in doubt score out
score line – ‘trough’ or ‘indentation’
When in doubt score out
back side of score line – it pokes up
When in doubt score out
Card front, ready for decoration

I hope this little ditty will help you next time you score your card and wonder, briefly this time, which way to make that fold.

WHEN IN DOUBT, SCORE OUT.
