As you probably know, I love to stamp and I love to create. Word has gotten out in my community that I’m a ‘doer’ and that I support my community organizations. The main beneficiary of my time is our Fire Department via the auxiliary.
Thanks to Stampin’ Up! and My Digital Studio (now officially gone from SU! but not gone from my life and computer) I have fun making tickets, programs and other items for local events. Here are two examples that I completed this morning:
And then, as if that wasn’t enough, I created and printed the labels for the Spaghetti Sauce that will be sold as a part of our annual Spaghetti Dinner at the Mi Wuk Sugar Pine fire station. We’ve always sold extra sauce after the event and this will be the first year that we’ve planned ahead to sell pre-packaged sauce in ‘cute’ containers.
I designed them to be simple, reflect the gingham tablecloths we use at the event, fit our 8 ounce containers and, most importantly, be able to be cut out with the Big Shot! I was able to use the 3-1/2″ circle from the Circles Collection Framelits. Sure beats fussy cutting each one with scissors!
My committee and I will be attaching all of the labels early next week using Mod Podge! If this experiment flies this year, we might switch to Mason jars next year and then make the packaging of the sauce a little bit fancier, with the addition of some ribbon (raffia) and embellishment.
And now it’s time to tackle items for a basket (fund raiser) that will be part of a drawing at the September 5th Spaghetti Dinner. What would you like to see in a basket that you’d purchase a drawing ticket (or ten) for? I just had a thought: use the same circle as used on the labels, to introduce myself and offer a free class. Hi ho hi ho, it’s off to gather I go. It’s just another part of my community stamping.
