I think the greeting ‘so grateful for you’ can be used for so many reasons. To me, it just lets my recipient know how special they are to me and how special they are in my life.
Because I AM ‘so grateful for you’ I wanted to create a simple(ish) card for a swap I’m participating in later this week–and then share it. It’s fall and I’m really enjoying using both old and new Stampin’ Up! stamp sets for making my cards. Today’s card uses an older stamp set, Soft Seedlings, from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. I apologize for that. I’ve been purging in my garage stamping stash and came upon this unused as-of-yet stamp set. I’m so ding-y that I thought it was a new release as I brought it into my stamping space and created six cards for the swap plus two extra for my use. Oooops………it’s not a NEW stamp set per the swap requirements. Take two of my swap cards will happen in the next few days!
But back to today, I used a fun stamping process that I haven’t used in years so here is my “share”. It’s usually called the ‘baby wipe technique’ but I’m calling it the Disinfecting Wipes technique because that’s what I had on hand! First, I created my own ‘stamp pad’ by laying 5-6 wipes on top of each other. Then I dripped drops (7-9) of the following reinkers: Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie randomly over the layer of wipes.
How’d She Make That Mess Above?
To be a bit more specific, I used a small cutting board, covered it with aluminum foil (to ‘protect’ the board), and then gently laid out (and smoothed each layer) five or six Disinfectant Wipes. Then I dribbled drops from the reinkers all over the layers as described above. I actually retrieved what you see in the photo from the trash–I’d forgotten to photograph the actual board before dismantling it.
I used an “E” size clear block to secure the cling stamp for stamping and I didn’t clean it off between each of the eight cards I made.

I really like the looks of the greeting that was stamped using the ‘wipes’ as a stamp pad. the greeting is actually two stamps: ‘so grateful’ and ‘for you’. You can place them closely together on a clear block and make it look like a single greeting. Finishing the card, I used the Simply Scored Tool for a little pop: I turned the finished stamped layer over and ‘drew’ a score line 1/8″ from each edge for that special bit of interest. For my last tweak, I tilted the stamped layer slightly….just enough to make it a tad more interesting.
If you’re enjoying making autumn cards as much as I am this year I heartily suggest that you try the “baby” or “disinfecting” wipes method of creating a one-of-a-kind ‘stamp pad’ for your card/s. The look is so special.
