Sometimes having a sweet and simple Thankful for You card on hand is just what you need. I was in charge of an event at our fire station a few weeks ago and this is one of the thank you cards I sent to those who had lent a helping hand.
This card uses a technique call Two-Step Stamping. Two-Step Stamping is a simple way to achieve depth and texture in your images and this new Painted Harvest stamp set is a wonderful example of this technique.
For this card I stamped the base/larger layer of the sunflower using Daffodil Delight classic ink and then stamped over that layer with the other, smaller, sunflower using Crushed Curry classic ink.
Anything that looked like a blotchy ink ‘mistake’ really isn’t and is ‘camoflaged” with the second layer of ink. I’m sure that sounds clear as mud! But….a picture is worth a thousand words.
Then come the leaves: there are two leaf stem stamps, one more solid, one with veins in it. Stamp the more solid stem with the lighter colored ink and then stamp over that with the veined image and a darker ink.
And that is two-step stamping.
Just so you know it………..I am thankful for you!
