I received a pretty frantic call from a Farmer’s Market mate a few days ago wondering if it would be possible to make some a.s.a.p. baby shower invitations for her. I haven’t participated in the Farmer’s Market for four years. Debra usually had the booth next to me where she sold all kinds of really cute aprons. She had purchased some of my hand stamped cards and actually still had some of them with which she just couldn’t part.
I told her it would be pretty tight since I would only be home off and on for two days, that I had a class and then I’d be gone for the weekend. She hoped to get the cards on Monday. And she actually got the finished cards on Friday!
I sent her two prototypes, she loved one of them. She was hoping for pink, white and gold.
So here’s the card she chose.
Fortunately I had enough supplies on hand, plus some retired ribbon, to create 34 invitations. Three cheers for the Big Shot and retired baby stamp sets! I send Mom pictures of all (like six) of the ‘vintage’ baby stamp sets I had plus the current Something for Baby and the coordinating Baby’s First Framelits.
By the way, the cause for the frantic last minute issue: the doctor had grossly miscalculated her daughter’s due date, and the oh-too-expensive invitations she had ordered online were now quite wrong as far as the shower date would be and she couldn’t find an online vendor who could expedite more invitations. She dug into her memory bank and called me! It’s a win win.
